Welcome to Oyster Gifts & Art Gallery Online

Oyster is a design store and art gallery owned by sisters Pip and Jacqui who regularly travel the length of the country to bring you the best kiwi made designs in the country.

Located on Jackson Street in the historic harbour-side town of Petone, our store has a relaxed feel with great background sounds and smells.  We sell over 95% NZ made gifts and art including jewellery, homeware, wall art, kiwiana and handbags from talented designers and artists all over this country of ours. We also stock a few imported ranges which are researched to ensure ethical trading practices have taken place. Our art gallery exhibits affordable art by a different NZ artist every month.

This website offers you a taste of our range in-store.  If you see something you'd like just email or phone us. If you're currently living overseas and would like to have a gift sent to a rellie or friend here in NZ, we'll arrange delivery and even write your message in the card!  And of course we send items to kiwis living in far-flung places who want the latest reminder of home.

Follow us on Facebook to see our newest contemporary gifts - we update our page weekly with pics and specials.  If you'd like us to email you our monthly flyer showing the artist we're exhibiting, email us your contact address and phone number.  You'll automatically go into our monthly prize draw for a $100 gift voucher - and each month you go in again.

We have gift vouchers and a layby service. We were finalists in the 2007 Top Shop Awards, the 2008 and 2009 Hutt Valley Business Excellence Awards.  We WON Best Retail in the Lower Hutt Top Business Awards 2009!

Enjoy perusing our products and come and see us at 252 Jackson Street, Petone (opposite the clock tower).  We're open 7 days

Erin Carver

For the month of August we have Lower Hutt artist Erin Carver exhibiting in our gallery.  She creates depth and meaning in her collage work which reflect the inspiration she finds in treasure hunts through op shops, nostalgia for the past and words that inspire as well as a belief in possiblilty.
